Orjwan Ammar: The Arabian Race Track Queen, Women of Progress S2

Orjwan Ammar’s fascination with Formula 1 began just like any other child–she admired the thrill of racing. However, she never really imagined herself behind the wheel. One day, she joined the Saudi championship, just to try and that decision completely changed her life. “I was the only woman on the grid… my only focus was to finish the race. I wasn’t expecting to finish on a podium, but I did.”

Her second‑place finish in the SSV category marked the start of a remarkable career. She went on to compete in Rally Jameel and the Saudi Toyota Rally Championship, where she earned third place in the T4 category in 2023.

Orjwan credits her family for unwavering support. She explains that racing has shaped her personality: “It taught me how to be disciplined, how to take decisions, and how to overcome challenges.”

Outside the track, she is a successful entrepreneur. As founder of Brund, she contributes to Saudi Arabia’s advertising sector. Her dual success in business and racing reflects her belief that passion and perseverance can break barriers.

Ammar’s ultimate goal is to keep learning, gaining experience, and achieving more in her racing career. To young women, she says: “Be confident, believe in yourself, follow your passion, live your life, and be the woman of progress.” Her journey is now gracing Women of Progress Season 2, inspiring audiences across the region.
