Porto: UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider Rui Oliveira claimed the first professional road victory of his career after winning Stage 10, the final stage of the Volta a Portugal, in his hometown of Porto.The Portuguese rider, who won Olympic gold in the Madison event at Paris 2024, produced a strong finish on the technical roads and rolling terrain of the final stage, launching a decisive sprint in the closing metres to secure victory and clinch the points classification.Oliveira enjoyed a consistent race, having finished second to teammate Julius Johansen in the opening prologue, worn the yellow jersey after Stage 1 and claimed another runner-up finish on Stage 6.UAE Team Emirates-XRG concluded the 11-day race with four stage victories.Johansen secured victories in the opening prologue and the Stage 5 individual time trial, while Adrià Pericas claimed his first professional victory on Stage 7.Pericas also finished fifth overall in the general classification and won the white jersey as the race's best young rider.The strong performance capped a successful campaign for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, with the team leaving the Volta a Portugal with four stage wins and two classification titles.
