ALBAWABA - At least two people were killed and six others were injured in a massive overnight drone attack by Ukraine on the Moscow region, a Russian mayor said Sunday.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin revealed that over 1,600 drones, launched by the Ukrainian army, were intercepted and shot down.
The mayor further noted that 450 of the 1,600 were targeting Moscow.
Sobyanin said in a statement via Telegram, "The unprecedented attack was clearly planned with the aim of disrupting the elections. The enemy did not succeed."

A video of a major oil refinery on fire in Moscow was shared on social media, showing a massive blaze erupting from the plant.
Moscow regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov said that at least two people, a 44-year-old woman and an elderly man, were killed in two separate locations.
Additionally, 400 people were evacuated, Vorobyov said, after a fire triggered by a drone crashing into a 21-storey building.
However, the governor didn't specify the drones' origin.
