Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will inaugurate a new 500-metre, two-lane bridge on Friday as part of the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project.The bridge will serve traffic coming from the Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central buildings towards the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Za’abeel Palace Street. The new connection is expected to reduce travel time from the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events from 10 minutes to just two minutes.The bridge is part of the wider Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which extends from the street’s intersection with Za’abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street. The project is being delivered at a cost of AED 633 million.The development includes the construction of 2,000 metres of bridges and tunnels and the expansion of Al Mustaqbal Street from three lanes to four lanes in each direction.According to the RTA, the project will increase the street’s traffic capacity by 33%, raising it from 6,600 vehicles per hour to 8,800 vehicles per hour in both directions. It is also expected to reduce overall travel time along the corridor from 13 minutes to six minutes.The opening forms part of ongoing efforts to develop Dubai’s road network infrastructure and transport systems to support urban development, accommodate population growth, and enhance quality of life.
