Nestlé Saudi Arabia collaborates with MODON to promote food safety awareness across the industrial sector
On the occasion of World Food Safety Day, Nestlé Saudi Arabia collaborated with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) on an awareness initiative hosted at the company’s factory in Jeddah’s Third Industrial City. The initiative aimed to promote food safety concepts and raise awareness of safe and responsible manufacturing practices among employees working in factories and production facilities. The initiative brought together more than 80 participants, including 25 representatives from food manufacturing facilities, reflecting the importance of knowledge-sharing and the exchange of expertise across the sector. It also underscored the value of public-private sector collaboration in fostering a culture of prevention and compliance, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to advance the industrial sector and enhance quality of life. This initiative reaffirmed the ongoing commitment on implementing the highest standards of quality and food safety throughout every stage of the manufacturing process. The company relies on advanced technologies, accurate operational and manufacturing data, stringent control systems, and integrated quality procedures that contribute to ensuring food safety and enhancing operational efficiency. Ali Achbab, Factory Manager at Nestlé Saudi Arabia, said: "Food safety is a cornerstone of all our operations, and we believe that sharing knowledge and expertise with industry professionals helps establish more informed and efficient manufacturing practices and supports the creation of an industrial environment that is more committed to safety and quality." The initiative featured a specialized session addressing food safety risks, their potential impact, and ways to prevent them through the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. The session also highlighted the role of manufacturing data in supporting compliance and improving performance. The program concluded with a guided tour of the factory, giving participants a practical overview of how quality and food safety standards are implemented, as well as the systems and procedures followed across the production lines. This collaboration forms part of a shared commitment to advancing future awareness initiatives and expanding the exchange of expertise and best practices among industrial facilities, contributing to the development of a more efficient, compliant, and sustainable manufacturing environment.
