By Mohamed Attia Nesma Airlines has inaugurated its first direct flights between Cairo and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW), where the inaugural flight was warmly welcomed with an official reception ceremony, marking the launch of a new air route connecting two of the region’s most dynamic destinations. The inaugural flight from Cairo received significant attention and a warm welcome from the management of Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, reflecting the importance of the new route in supporting air traffic and enhancing direct connectivity between the Egyptian and Turkish markets, whether for business, tourism, or growing commercial exchange between the two countries. Upon arrival at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional “water salute”, one of the most widely recognised ceremonial practices in the global aviation industry for inaugural flights. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was also held in the presence of the flight captain, cabin crew, company representatives, and airport officials, along with commemorative photos marking the launch of the new route and the partnership between both sides.
