Navy commanders of Egypt, Kenya discuss means to boost military co-operation
Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzy received on Tuesday Paul Owuor Otieno, Commander of the Kenyan Navy, and his accompanying delegation during an official visit to the Egyptian Navy in Alexandria that lasted several days. The meeting is part of the Armed Forces’ commitment to strengthening military co-operation with sisterly and friendly African nations in support of maritime security and stability efforts in the region. The two sides also held bilateral talks covering a number of issues and topics of mutual interest. On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation toured the Naval Academy to review the student preparation and training system, which is implemented in line with the latest educational methods. The Kenyan delegation also visited several newly commissioned naval units to learn about the combat capabilities and advanced weapon systems of the Egyptian Naval Forces, in addition to a visit to Alexandria Shipyard to explore the capabilities of the leading company in the production and construction of naval vessels. The visit reflects the Armed Forces’ keenness to enhance military co-operation ties with friendly countries.
