MP Fadlallah: Resistance Will Frustrate Israeli Attempt to Create Buffer Zone in South Lebanon

Member of “Loyalty to Resistance” parliamentary bloc, Dr. Hasan Fadlallah, affirmed that the Islamic Resistance will bring down the Zionist attempts to establish a buffer zone in South Lebanon, calling on the Authority to quit granting the enemy concessions and antagonizing a large segment of the Lebanese people. What follows is the text of MP Fadlallah’s statement: “We reaffirm that the enemy’s attempt to establish a security belt on our land and to replicate a new Antoine Lahd in the region will be brought down by the sacrifices of the Resistance and the steadfastness of our people. In the face of the daily scene of killing unarmed civilians in the South and the systematic destruction of our border villages, the authority and its tools must immediately abandon the path of concessions and cease the rhetoric of incitement, treason accusations, and antagonizing a large segment of the Lebanese people. This serves the enemy on one hand, and threatens stability and Lebanon’s consensual formula enshrined in the Taif Agreement on the other. All of this strips this authority of its role and legitimacy stipulated in the preamble of the Constitution, and makes it a biased party adopting choices against the majority of its people. No matter how hard it tries, it will not obtain national cover for its direct negotiations with the enemy. The required solution is clear: the authority must return to its people in a way that preserves Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty.”
