Mostafa Asal crowned World Squash Champion for the second time in a row
World No. 1 Mostafa Asal has captured the PSA World Squash Championship title, held at the Palm Hills courts, after defeating his compatriot and World No. 7 Youssef Ibrahim in the final. Asal secured his victory on Saturday evening with a commanding 3-0 performance in a match that lasted 56 minutes. The game scores were 11-4, 11-1, and 12-10. This victory marks the second World Championship title of Asal’s career. In another historic milestone for Egyptian squash, World No. 3 Amina Orfi claimed her maiden World Squash Championship title after upsetting fellow Egyptian and World No. 2 Nour El Sherbini in the women’s final. Orfi defeated El Sherbini in a grueling, 106-minute marathon match on Saturday evening, finishing with a 3-2 victory. The hard-fought game scores were 6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, and 14-12.
