Dubai: More than 123,000 Emirati women are currently working in the UAE’s private sector, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).Marking Emirati Women’s Day, which is observed annually on August 28 and has been extended to a month this year, the ministry highlighted the growing role of Emirati women across the country’s labour market, saying their contribution extends well beyond the numbers.Emirati women are working across skilled and specialised positions, as well as at senior professional, executive and leadership levels, MOHRE said.“More than 123,000 Emirati women are working in the private sector, with a presence that extends beyond the numbers to meaningful roles across the labour market,” the ministry said.“From skilled and specialised positions to senior professional levels and executive and leadership roles, Emirati women continue to strengthen their position as key partners in the UAE’s development journey.”MOHRE attributed the progress to the UAE’s framework for empowering women and providing equal opportunities, backed by policies aimed at expanding their participation across different sectors of the economy.“These achievements are the result of an integrated framework of empowerment and equal opportunities, supported by the wise leadership’s commitment to advancing the aspirations and capabilities of Emirati women,” the ministry said.
