Dubai: The organising committee of the Arab Media Summit 2026, which will be held from 15 to 17 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre, has announced the participation of His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as a keynote speaker.His Excellency's participation comes at a time of significant geopolitical developments and regional challenges, highlighting the growing importance of coordination and cooperation among Gulf states.Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the Arab Media Summit, said the media today faces greater responsibilities than ever before amid rapid regional and global transformations.She stressed the need for a more aware and responsible media sector capable of understanding and analysing ongoing developments with depth and clarity.Her Excellency added that the Gulf Cooperation Council represents a well-established model of regional coordination, integration and joint action, noting that the media remains an essential component of this framework."We are confident that the dialogue with a political and diplomatic figure of the stature of His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi will add an important dimension to the summit's discussions on the future of media and its role during a sensitive regional and international phase," she said.The Arab Media Summit is expected to bring together media leaders, policymakers, experts and content creators from across the Arab world to discuss the future of media, emerging technologies and the evolving role of journalism in a rapidly changing global landscape.
