Mohammed bin Rashid launches ‘UAE Government 4.0’ to accelerate AI adoption across public services
Mohammed bin Rashid: The journey towards ‘UAE Government 4.0’ has begunDubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a Cabinet meeting held today (Monday) at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, focused on discussing the National Transformation Strategy.The strategy, directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, aims to make the UAE government the first in the world to adopt Agentic artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across 50% of its services and operations.His Highness affirmed that the journey towards “UAE Government 4.0” has officially begun and that the next objective is to position the UAE as the world’s leading government in adopting these advanced technologies.He noted that His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, will oversee the progress of the transformation, with a national retreat planned to further discuss the strategy.During the meeting, the Cabinet approved the general framework outlining the roles of ministries and federal entities within the national project, ensuring integrated efforts and a unified transformation approach across all government institutions.The Cabinet also launched the largest training programme of its kind within the UAE government, aimed at equipping 80,000 employees with skills in AI-assisted technologies and tools. The initiative will cover all levels, from ministers and senior executives to new employees across ministries and government entities.In addition, the Cabinet approved the first package of transformative government services that will incorporate AI technologies. These services will cater to citizens, residents, businesses and investors.The Cabinet also endorsed the National Policy for Advancing Artificial Intelligence in the Healthcare Sector. The policy aims to establish a national AI-powered healthcare system, enhance digital health infrastructure, and equip healthcare professionals with advanced AI capabilities, improving both the quality and sustainability of healthcare services.In a post on the social media platform X, His Highness said: “Today I chaired a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, we discussed the National Transformation Strategy directed by my brother, His Highness the President of the State, to make the UAE government the first to adopt Agentic AI technologies in 50% of government services and operations.”He added: “During today’s meeting, we defined the general framework for the roles of ministries and federal entities in this national project. We also launched the largest training programme of its kind in the UAE government, training 80,000 employees on assistive AI technologies and tools, from ministers and senior executives to new employees across all government entities.”His Highness continued: “We also approved the first package of transformative government services that will adopt AI technologies, including service packages for citizens, residents, the business sector and investors.”He further said: “We have adopted the national policy to advance artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector by building an AI-based medical system, developing digital health infrastructure, and training healthcare professionals in new AI skills.”His Highness concluded: “The journey towards UAE Government 4.0 has begun. We will hold a national retreat to discuss the transformation strategy. Sheikh Mansour will continue to oversee this journey. Our goal is to become the best government globally in adopting Agentic AI technologies.”
