Miami: Brais Méndez scored a late equaliser on his Major League Soccer debut as the Columbus Crew earned a 2-2 draw against Inter Miami on Saturday night.The result ended Miami's six-game winning streak, although the club extended its unbeaten run to seven matches. Columbus moved to 5-8-5 on the season, while Miami's record stands at 11-2-5.Méndez struck in the 84th minute, curling a free-kick from the right side that went untouched before rebounding off the post and into the net to level the match.Lionel Messi returned to action for Miami after helping Argentina reach a second consecutive World Cup final. The forward came on as a substitute in the 53rd minute and created several scoring opportunities late in the game but was unable to find the net.Miami opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Luis Suárez, who registered his seventh goal in the club's last four regular-season matches.The strike also saw Suárez become just the fifth player in MLS history to record at least 10 goals and five assists in each of his first three seasons in the league.Columbus drew level through an own goal by Miami in the first half before Noah Allen restored the home side's lead with a header in first-half stoppage time to make it 2-1.The match remained in Miami's favour until Méndez's late intervention secured a point for the visitors.Kick-off was delayed by 40 minutes due to adverse weather conditions.Columbus next travel to face Charlotte on 15th August, while Inter Miami will visit Nashville on the same day.
