MBG Developments partners with Hilton to launch Hilton Garden Inn at Doray Bay in Ras El Bar

MBG Developments has signed a strategic partnership with Hilton to launch the Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Bar within its flagship Doray Bay development in Ras El Bar, a mixed-use waterfront project being developed in partnership with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). The agreement marks Hilton’s first hotel in Egypt’s Nile Delta region and represents a significant milestone in the expansion of the country’s hospitality sector. The hotel will form part of a mixed-use development comprising residential, tourism, leisure and commercial components in a prime seafront location in Ras El Bar. Doray Bay will also feature the Delta’s first fully integrated tourist promenade, extending 1.1 kilometres along the waterfront, in addition to a sea pier and a yacht marina. The Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Bar will comprise approximately 160 rooms operated under the Hilton Garden Inn brand and managed according to Hilton’s international hospitality standards, representing a major addition to the tourism infrastructure of Damietta Governorate and Ras El Bar. The hotel will enjoy uninterrupted sea views and be located less than 200 metres from the beach. It will sit directly above the project’s main commercial district, providing guests with convenient access to a wide range of restaurants, cafés, retail outlets and other amenities. The property will offer a comprehensive range of facilities, including multiple restaurants, a fully equipped fitness centre, an integrated spa, event and banquet halls, and a private swimming pool, providing guests with a complete leisure and hospitality experience. Mahmoud El Adl, Chairperson of MBG Developments, said Doray Bay represents a successful model of cooperation between the state, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, and the private sector. He said such partnerships accelerate urban development and support the government’s strategy to increase Egypt’s hotel capacity to around 300,000 rooms by 2030. El Adl added that Doray Bay is a distinctive development in Ras El Bar, with every residential unit offering direct sea views. The project will also feature the city’s largest seafront terrace, while all buildings will be equipped with elevators to enhance accessibility and residents’ comfort. He noted that all units will be delivered fully finished, with handovers scheduled to begin in 2027, positioning Doray Bay as a competitive destination among Egypt’s leading tourism, residential and leisure developments. He added that partnering with Hilton will significantly enhance the project’s investment appeal by leveraging the global hospitality group’s expertise in hotel management. Amr El Adl, Vice Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of MBG Developments, said the company is proud to partner with Hilton, which will manage and operate the hotel according to internationally recognised hospitality standards, ensuring guests receive a premium experience that reflects the highest levels of quality and service. He added that the partnership forms part of MBG’s broader strategy to diversify its portfolio and achieve sustainable growth across Egypt’s real estate and hospitality sectors. El Adl said the Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Bar aligns with the state’s strategy to develop new tourism destinations, expand investment in hospitality projects and accelerate the delivery of new hotel rooms through partnerships with the private sector to meet rising demand, particularly as Egypt aims to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2030. He also highlighted Ras El Bar’s historical significance, noting that it was once a summer retreat for King Farouk and members of the royal family, as well as a favourite destination for some of Egypt’s most celebrated cultural and artistic figures, including the legendary singer Umm Kulthum. This rich heritage, he said, reinforces the city’s status as one of Egypt’s most iconic coastal destinations. Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Chief Development Officer for the Middle East and Africa, said the company is pleased to partner with MBG Developments to introduce the Hilton Garden Inn brand to Ras El Bar. He noted that the hotel will occupy a prime location within a mixed-use waterfront community in the Nile Delta, adding that Egypt continues to present significant long-term opportunities for hospitality investment. “We remain committed to expanding our portfolio in Egypt and strengthening our presence across the country. We are delighted to partner with MBG Developments on this project in support of Egypt Vision 2030 by enhancing the country’s appeal as a leading global tourism destination and contributing to the continued growth of the hotel sector,” Khneisser said.
