Maersk announces transit of ship through Strait of Hormuz

Global shipping company Maersk issued a statement regarding the transit of one of its vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Maersk announced on Monday that the vehicle carrier Alliance Fairfax had departed the Gulf region via the Strait of Hormuz, escorted by US military forces Reuters reported. The company indicated that the vessel, which flies the US flag and is operated by Maersk subsidiary Farrell Lines, completed the transit without incident, confirming that all crew members are safe and unharmed. Alliance Fairfax was among hundreds of ships stranded in the Gulf region following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz since early March, a consequence of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
