Lebanon-Israel negotiations: Why the path to a deal remains so difficult

The significant revolutionary difference in the regional and international landscape now has provided Lebanon with its first harsh lesson, as the crippling blows received by the “resistance axis”—considered the primary and sole cause of the return of Israeli occupation to the south, this time with its fiercest measures—have not yet been accompanied by what was anticipated and hoped to result from the negotiations as a peaceful diplomatic option that opens the way for Lebanon’s final salvation from being an open arena in the name of Palestine, Iran, and all other defunct resistance regimes.
