The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) Masam Project for Clearing Landmines in Yemen removed 1,448 mines from various parts of the country during the final week of July. The total included 17 anti-personnel mines, 83 anti-tank mines, 1,310 items of unexploded ordnance, and 38 improvised explosive devices, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday. During July, Masam teams cleared a total of 7,101 mines, bringing the overall number of explosives removed since the project's launch to 578,226. The mines had been indiscriminately planted across Yemen, posing a threat to the lives of innocent children, women, and the elderly while spreading fear among civilians. Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to clear landmines from Yemeni territory under the Masam Project, enhancing civilian safety and helping the Yemeni people live in dignity and security.
