ALBAWABA - In the past few days, many posts emerged on social media showing a photo of legendary Hong Kong action actor Jackie Chan in black and white, along with his birth year 1954, followed by a dash and 2026, allegedly claiming the star passed away.
The story began when a bizarre social media hoax claiming the star of the "Rush Hour" movie has died went viral, prompting worries among the actor's huge fanbase over his well-being.
However, it turned out that the post, which gained about 4 million views online, was fake and that the Hong Kong star, 71, who performed in over 150 action-comedy, martial arts, and dramatic films spanning more than six decades, is not dead and in action.

Media outlets said there is no credible evidence behind the alleged posts.
It is not the first time that death rumors surround old famous international celebrities like Chan. Such death hoaxes frequently spread, but usually there are no strong, credible sources behind them.
Jackie Chan's latest public appearance was on July 7, when he made a surprise visit to Pei Chun Public School in Singapore.
According to Singapore's The Straits Times, the star went to the school as part of an event organized by the Lim Family Foundation and chatted with students.
