RIYADH — The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), in cooperation with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), conducted a program on conceptual foundations and emerging challenges in preventing and countering violent extremism.IMCTC Secretary General Maj. Gen. Pilot Mohammed Al-Moghedi and representatives from member states attended the program, which concluded at IMCTC’s headquarters in Riyadh. **media[2768484]** The program is part of efforts to activate the partnership between the IMCTC and the United Kingdom, and to strengthen cooperation with specialized international institutions. Al-Moghedi affirmed that investing in building the capacities of representatives of member states and exchanging expertise with specialized international institutions are key pillars for developing more effective and sustainable responses to extremism and terrorism. The program addressed the conceptual foundations and drivers of extremism; the exploitation of digital platforms by extremist groups; patterns of terrorist financing and risks associated with virtual assets; disengagement, rehabilitation, and reintegration pathways; and the role of strategic communication in countering extremist narratives.
