In previous years, information of this kind would surface from time to time, accompanied by details about the nature of the offers and incentives presented to Hezbollah or the guarantees offered to it, such as obtaining the vice presidency of the Republic following a constitutional amendment, or granting Hezbollah the right to name the army commander, in addition to other privileges and guarantees. Hezbollah did not bother to respond or provide clarifications, although it would reveal such offers when their source was Washington or another Western capital.
