However, the Middle East’s entry into this process, even if it came later, has changed the equation and, in my view, shifted it largely in our favor. The region’s most ambitious museums did not inherit the Louvre’s model. They were built in the era of smartphones, algorithm driven content flows, and generative models. For this reason, they quietly avoided assuming the role of their older counterparts. They did not impose their authority on visitors; instead, they moved closer to engaging in dialogue with them, because visitors’ role went beyond mere reception and sometimes became part of the debate itself.
