Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance MP Hasan Fadlallah stressed on Sunday that resisting the enemy and defending the homeland against a hostile aggression requires neither a permission, nor a national consensus. During a mourning ceremony in tribute of resistance fighters who fell martyrs during Operation Eaten Straw in Bir Hasan area, south of Beirut, MP Fadlallah said that Lebanon’s resistance remains the sole national option to liberate land, defend the people, and protect the country. “The resistance will endure and will not back down until it compels the enemy to withdraw and halt its attacks,” the Hezbollah lawmaker said, according to the party’s Media Relations Department. Hezbollah “rejects any return to the pre–March 2 phase—a position it considers final. Accordingly, any new agreement in Lebanon must guarantee full protection against future aggression,” he added, referring to the 15-month period between the ceasefire on November 27, 2024 and March 2, 2026, when the large-scale Israeli aggression started. MP Fadlallah said that this war demands a heavy toll, noting that it is “borne by our people, our communities, and the South in defense of all Lebanon.” Israeli Army Expands Attacks in Southern Lebanon Despite CeasefireThe Israeli enemy expanded its attacks across southern Lebanon on Sunday, striking residential areas and disrupting all aspects of daily life.Air strikes, drone attacks and artillery shelling targeted towns… pic.twitter.com/q8cWVH44Dx— Al-Manar English (@manarenglish) May 3, 2026 In this context, he stated: “The least we ask of some at home is to cease incitement, hostility, and attempts to undermine the resistance and stab it in the back.” “With our people, our will, our martyrs, and our fighters, we remain committed to confronting the enemy, liberating our land, and preventing further aggression against our country.” MP Fadlallah, Meanwhile, slammed some local sides who blame the resistance for the Israeli aggression by saying: “Some continue to obscure the facts by claiming that we dragged the country into war without consultation. Yet they showed no concern over what the enemy was committing on a daily basis for 15 months.” “We have consistently stressed in our meetings with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, political forces, and international actors that our patience has limits, our blood is not cheap, and time is running out. Despite this, the authorities failed to act as required, and the enemy did not adhere to halting its attacks,” he added. “Accordingly, the response came at a regional moment conducive to shaping a new deterrence and protection equation.”
