Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has directed the launch of the second edition of the “Dubai Mollathon.”The initiative, described as the first of its kind globally, aims to transform shopping malls across Dubai into destinations for sports and community activities during the summer.In a post on X, Sheikh Hamdan said: “Today we directed the launch of the second edition of the Dubai Mollathon, the first initiative of its kind globally that transforms Dubai’s shopping malls into vibrant sports and community destinations throughout the summer.”He added that from 15 June to 15 September 2026, shopping centres across the emirate will open their doors daily for walking, running and exercise.“Dubai is a city for everyone...and its facilities are at the service of young and old...citizens and residents...visitors and families,” His Highness said.Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the initiative aims to encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle by providing inclusive spaces for physical activity.“Our goal is for everyone to find the opportunity, space, and motivation to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle. We invite everyone to participate in the Dubai Mollathon and benefit from its diverse events and programmes,” he added.He concluded: “For in movement there is blessing... in health there is happiness... and in meeting there is life.”
