Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, has chaired a meeting of the Supervisory Committee of the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Medal and approved the name of the first recipient of the award.According to the Dubai Media Office, the Director-General selected for the inaugural edition was chosen following an evaluation process involving 32 participating government entities.The winner will be announced and honoured at the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum 2026, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development on 23 September.His Highness said the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Medal will be awarded to the Director-General who excels in empowering and developing second-tier leaders. He noted that the sustainability of government institutions depends primarily on developing strong and capable young leaders across the second and third tiers.According to information released by the Dubai Media Office, the selection process involved:32 Director-General and second-tier leaders100 interviews conducted to assess leadership impact10 independent global evaluatorsThe medal recipient will be honoured during the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum later this month.
