The challenge that "Hamas" currently faces is to rise to the level of the event represented by reaching the agreement set by the "Peace Council." Simply put, it has no choice but to break out of the closed-loop game that Netanyahu's government has mastered. The time has come for Israeli accountability to be accompanied by accountability for "Hamas," rather than allowing the Israeli crime to serve as a cover for the more atrocious crime against Palestinians: the crime of refusing to recognize that the weapons carried by the movement and the slogans it raised only led to a catastrophe. The catastrophe almost wiped Gaza off the map.
