Google’s UAE tools generated AED21.8 billion in economic activity, says regional executive

Dubai: Google's products and services generated an estimated AED21.8 billion in economic activity across the UAE, according to Anthony Nakache, Managing Director for Google in the Middle East and North Africa.Speaking in an interview shared by the Government of Dubai Media Office, Nakache highlighted Google's journey in the UAE since opening its first office at Dubai Internet City 18 years ago.He also pointed to the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence solutions, noting that Google's Gemini application has reached 900 million monthly users.Nakache said Google's tools continue to contribute to the UAE economy while supporting innovation and digital transformation across the country.He reaffirmed Google's commitment to supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of Dubai's economy and strengthen the emirate's position as a leading global business hub.The discussion also explored the growing role of AI technologies and their impact on businesses, consumers and economic growth in the region.Watch the full video to hear Anthony Nakache's insights on Google's growth in the UAE, AI adoption trends and the company's contribution to the country's digital economy.
