GDRFA Dubai distributes 58,000 refreshments through ‘Freej Fridge’ initiative

Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) participated in the third edition of the 'Freej Fridge' initiative, distributing 58,000 bottles of chilled water, juices and ice cream across four locations in the emirate.The initiative benefited more than 18,000 workers, while around 70 employee volunteers took part in supporting the campaign.Organised by the Furjan Dubai Foundation with support from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and in collaboration with Suqia UAE and the UAE Food Bank, the initiative aims to support workers in sectors including sanitation, construction, delivery services, agriculture, and road and street maintenance.As part of the campaign, refrigerated vehicles travel to labour-intensive sites across Dubai to distribute chilled refreshments, helping to promote a safer working environment and reduce the risks of heat stress, dehydration and other heat-related health issues during the summer months.Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director-General of GDRFA Dubai, said the authority's participation reflects its commitment to translating the values of giving and social solidarity into practical initiatives that positively impact people's lives.He added that such humanitarian programmes represent an extension of the directorate's social responsibility efforts, which place people at the centre of its priorities and form an integral part of its institutional culture.
