From FBI breach to arrest in Jordan: Suspected ShinyHunters member detained

ALBAWABA - Jordan Arrests Suspected ShinyHunters Hacker Following FBI Cyber Breach Following an alleged cyber breach that targeted the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Jordanian officials have detained a man suspected of being a member of the infamous ShinyHunters hacking organization.

Security forces detained the suspect last week while officials looked into the hacker group's actions and potential linkages to other people and groups, according to a Jordanian official on Saturday.

Al-Mamlaka television in Jordan said that the arrest came after the FBI's alleged ShinyHunters violation. The suspect is currently being questioned by investigators regarding the group's activities and others purportedly associated with it.

Saif al-Din Khader was detained by Jordanian officials on Tuesday on suspicion of being a ShinyHunters member, according to Reuters, which cited three sources familiar with the investigation.

Following his detention, Khader has been helping the FBI and other international law enforcement agencies, according to two sources who spoke to Reuters. These efforts have included identifying and locating additional hackers thought to be associated with ShinyHunters.

Investigators may be able to learn important details about the composition and functioning of a hacking network connected to high-profile cyber incidents thanks to this research.

Attacks involving the theft and attempted sale or release of substantial volumes of compromised data have drawn attention from around the world for ShinyHunters.

The purported role of Khader in the gang and the evidence that led to his detention have not been made public by Jordanian authorities.

As the inquiry proceeds, it's also unknown what charges, if any, he would be subject to.

While Jordanian and foreign investigators continue to look into the group's operations and look for additional suspected members, authorities have so far only provided a limited amount of information regarding the purported FBI breach itself.
