GUIYANG — Egyptian modern pentathlete Farida Khalil won silver in the women’s individual event at the 2026 UIPM Pentathlon World Championships in Guiyang, China, which run from August 23 to 31. Khalil finished second in the final with 1,474 points, behind Hungary’s Blanka Guzi, who took gold with 1,485 points. Britain’s Kerenza Bryson claimed bronze with 1,464 points. Egypt also took silver in the women’s team event. Khalil, Jana El-Gendy and Jana Attia finished second with 4,347 points, just behind Belarus, who won gold with 4,356. Britain took bronze with 4,313 points. Attia also set a new world record in the obstacle race, completing the course in 25.17 seconds during the women’s individual final. Egypt had started the championships with bronze in the women’s relay, where Attia and Zeina Amer finished third with 1,302 points. The Egyptian team also picked up silver in the men’s team event, with Moataz Mohamed, Mohannad Shaaban and Mohamed El-Ashkar finishing second on 4,687 points. Egyptian athletes also made their mark in the obstacle race. Zeina Amer set a world record before Khalil lowered the mark again.
