CAIRO — Egypt’s Ali El-Ramli claimed the bronze medal in the under-81kg judo competition at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.
El-Ramli secured the podium finish after defeating a UAE opponent in the quarter-finals before falling to an Iranian competitor in the semi-finals.
He then faced a Cypriot judoka in the bronze-medal bout and emerged victorious.
It is Egypt’s second medal at the Youth Olympic Games, following Zein Hesham’s gold in the 100-meter butterfly, which he won in 52.16 seconds.
Senegal is hosting the 2026 Youth Olympic Games from October 30 to November 13, with 45 Egyptian athletes competing in 19 sports.
