Egyptian, Jordanian FMs express solidarity with Saudi Arabia in call with Prince Faisal

RIYADH — Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held on Tuesday phone call with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi. The Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting the Houthi militia’s aggression.During the call, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Dr. Abdelatty reviewed the fraternal and strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields. The Egyptian foreign minister reiterated his country’s condemnation of all attacks targeting the Kingdom, affirming Egypt’s full support for the Kingdom’s security and stability.The two ministers also discussed current regional developments, stressing the need to safeguard the security of maritime routes and freedom of navigation, particularly in the Red Sea and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait. They reaffirmed their countries’ steadfast support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty and the preservation of its national institutions, in a manner that safeguards its security and stability and fulfils the aspirations of the Sudanese people. During their call, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Ayman Safadi also discussed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan and the latest regional developments. They stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two countries to support and strengthen joint efforts to achieve security and stability in the region. On his part, the Jordanian foreign minister expressed his country’s condemnation and denunciation of the brutal attacks by the Houthi militia targeting the Kingdom, including attempts to target Makkah and Madinah, as well as civilian and economic facilities. He affirmed Jordan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its full support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
