By Mohamed Attia Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, met with Olivia Toderean, Ambassador of Romania to Egypt, and a delegation from TAROM, Romania’s national airline, to discuss ways to strengthen co-operation and explore new partnership opportunities between the two sides. The TAROM delegation included Florian Triel, Executive Director of TAROM, and Remo Ivan, Maintenance Director. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, Sherif Khalil; Chairman of EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering; Mohamed Sami and Head of the Alliances and International Relations Sector Rabab Hamdy. The meeting covered several areas of mutual interest, particularly maintenance and technical support services, aircraft support and spare parts, as well as ways to benefit from EgyptAir’s technical capabilities and specialised expertise. This includes providing aircraft support and maintenance services at Egyptian tourist destinations such as Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada. The two sides also discussed opportunities to strengthen co-operation in a way that would support operational flexibility, provide integrated technical solutions, and open new areas for partnership between the two airlines, building on their respective experience and capabilities in the aviation sector. Adel said that the visit by the Romanian Ambassador and the TAROM delegation represents an important opportunity to strengthen co-operation between the national carriers of Egypt and Romania. He noted that EgyptAir is keen to expand areas of co-operation and promote the exchange of specialised technical expertise and capabilities, particularly in maintenance, technical services, and operational support. He added that EgyptAir continues to implement its development and modernisation plans, focusing on making the most of its technical and human resources and expanding its international partnerships. This aims to enhance its ability to provide advanced services and strengthen its competitiveness amid the rapid changes taking place in the air transport industry regionally and internationally. For her part, Ambassador Olivia Toderean expressed her pleasure at visiting EgyptAir, stressing that strengthening co-operation in the aviation sector is an important area of Egyptian-Romanian relations. She also expressed her interest in continuing joint efforts to explore new areas of technical and operational co-operation, opening new opportunities for partnership between the two sides and supporting the strong relations between Egypt and Romania. The meeting comes as part of EgyptAir’s efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and expand technical and operational co-operation with airlines around the world, supporting its capabilities and position in providing maintenance and technical support services at both the regional and international levels.
