Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saied, have agreed on the urgent need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and enhance coordination on various regional issues. El-Sisi spoke over the phone with Saied on Tuesday, Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said, adding that the telephone call was part of the ongoing coordination between the two countries. During the phone conversation, El-Sisi pointed out the gravity of the current situation in light of the renewed tensions in the region, warning of the potential negative consequences should the situation once again escalate into a broader conflict, El-Shennawy stated. The two Presidents stressed the critical importance of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions and of working toward de-escalating tensions and containing the situation in order to prevent the crises from expanding and to preserve regional security and stability, the spokesman said. El-Sisi and the Tunisian President also agreed on the urgent need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and enhance coordination and consultations on various regional issues, particularly in light of the current challenges, El-Shennawy added.
