Egypt offers integrated energy solutions linking producers with global markets: Petroleum Minister
Egypt offers integrated strategic solutions that connect energy producers with consumers through a robust infrastructure network capable of meeting domestic demand while supporting regional and international markets, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi said. Speaking during the opening session of the US-Gulf Energy Infrastructure Summit in Washington, Badawi highlighted Egypt’s extensive natural gas infrastructure, LNG export facilities on the Mediterranean coast, refining and petrochemical complexes, crude oil and petroleum products reception, storage and handling facilities, as well as gas transmission networks and regional interconnection systems. The summit was organised by the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center in partnership with the US Department of Energy. It was inaugurated by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Atlantic Council President and Chief Executive Officer Frederick Kempe, bringing together ministers, senior government officials, executives of major American and Gulf energy companies, and representatives of financial institutions, advisory firms and infrastructure investors. Discussions focused on strengthening the resilience of global energy markets and reducing the impact of geopolitical disruptions on energy supplies through infrastructure development, enhanced regional connectivity and diversified energy export routes. Participants also examined the expansion of pipeline networks, the development of alternative energy transport corridors, financing mechanisms and public-private partnerships to support large-scale investments in energy infrastructure and LNG facilities. In his remarks, Badawi said Egypt’s strategic location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and Red Seas, and between Africa and the Middle East, reinforces its position as a regional energy hub and a gateway linking energy producers with consumers across Europe and global markets. He noted that this geographical advantage supports energy trade and transit, attracts investment and contributes to diversifying energy supply sources. Badawi added that the next phase of energy resource development across the region should be driven by investment, supported by stronger public-private partnerships, innovative financing solutions and a stable investment climate capable of attracting long-term capital. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening cooperation with regional and international partners, particularly the United States and Gulf countries, to advance strategic infrastructure projects, strengthen regional integration and support the security and stability of global energy supplies. The post Egypt offers integrated energy solutions linking producers with global markets: Petroleum Minister first appeared on Dailynewsegypt.
