On behalf of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa attended a celebration in Cairo on Tuesday organised by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) marking 50 years of cooperation and partnership with Egypt. Attending the event were several ministers, senior officials and representatives of international institutions. During his speech, Eissa congratulated the IFC on the occasion, expressing his pleasure at participating in an event that reflects half a century of joint cooperation, shared work and mutual support between the two sides. He stressed that relations between Egypt and the IFC have been built on strong foundations of partnership, development and investment, as well as confidence in the Egyptian state’s capabilities. He noted that cooperation between the two sides included nearly 300 projects across several vital sectors, generating positive outcomes that supported the Egyptian economy and strengthened development efforts. Eissa described the IFC, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund as strategic partners for Egypt, affirming the government’s aspiration to expand cooperation, particularly as the country continues implementing its economic reform programme. He added that the government is currently working on several key economic files, including restructuring state-owned companies and economic authorities, introducing tax reforms and updating the State Ownership Policy Document, noting that serious progress has been achieved over the past three months.
