Egypt junior water polo team’s Arab title win ‘perfect’

Egypt’s junior water polo team enjoyed a tournament to remember, winning the Arab title with a perfect record. Playing in front of their home fans, the young Egyptians won all six of their matches and finished the tournament unbeaten. Egypt started strongly and got better as the competition went on. They put in impressive performances against Algeria, Tunisia and Kuwait, mixing fast attacking play with strong defence. Their six wins put them at the top of the standings and secured the Arab title. For these young players, success is about more than winning a trophy. Winning at home made the achievement even more special and could be the start of something bigger for this promising group. Winning streak Egypt opened the tournament with a 15-6 win over Algeria, followed by a 15-5 victory against Tunisia and a 13-7 win over Kuwait. They kept their perfect run going, beating Algeria 16-6 before defeating Tunisia 12-4. The hosts then faced Kuwait again on the final day and completed the tournament with their sixth straight win, sealing the Arab title. Strong attacking play and solid defence helped Egypt stay unbeaten from start to finish. Trophy celebrations The tournament ended with a special trophy ceremony, as Egypt’s players collected their medals and lifted the cup in front of officials from the Egyptian and Arab swimming federations. Khaled Al-Khalifi, president of the Arab Aquatic Federation, and Hamid Al-Ghareeb, vice-president of the Arab Swimming Federation, were among the guests at the ceremony. Egyptian Swimming Federation president Nader Abdo and board member Islam Samida also attended, along with representatives from the participating federations and teams. For Egypt, the trophy was a fitting reward for an excellent campaign on home soil. Next challenge With the Arab title secured, Egypt leaves the tournament with plenty of confidence and valuable experience. The competition also gave the young players a chance to grow and develop while showing the talent coming through in the next generation of Egyptian water polo.
