Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Governor at the Islamic Development Bank Group, Ahmed Rostom, met with Adeeb Yousuf Al-Aama, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), to discuss strengthening strategic co-operation and following up on joint projects. During the meeting, Rostom highlighted the strong partnership between Egypt and the Islamic Development Bank Group and its affiliated institutions, stressing the government’s commitment to further developing this co-operation in line with “Egypt Vision 2030”. He stated that the ITFC plays a key role in supporting development efforts and providing essential and strategic commodities. He added that the corporation’s annual programme in Egypt is considered one of the main financing mechanisms supporting vital sectors, especially food security and energy. Rostom highlighted additional areas of co-operation, including the Arab-African Trade Bridges Programme and the Women in Global Trade Project. He noted that the partnership supports Egypt’s goals to diversify development financing, advance climate action, transition to a green economy, and strengthen human resources. The minister affirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding future cooperation through ongoing projects and a new initiative aimed at boosting exports and supporting the private sector. In response, Al-Aama expressed pride in the strong strategic ties between the ITFC and the Egyptian government, praising their ongoing collaboration with the ministry.
