During phone calls on Sunday with Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s condemnation of Iranian attacks on Gulf states.

Solidarity, De-escalation Efforts

He reiterated Egypt’s full support for and solidarity with both countries amid the current escalation, stressing Cairo’s readiness to provide all necessary support to safeguard the security and stability of Gulf states and the region.

President El-Sisi also praised the roles played by Qatar and the UAE in efforts to de-escalate tensions. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed and Sheikh Tamim praised Egypt’s steadfast support to Gulf states.

President El-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed agreed on the need to reduce the current escalation and spare the region further instability.

The Qatari and Emirati leaders affirmed their countries’ coordination with Egypt and other Arab states to prevent further escalation and work towards ending the war as quickly as possible.

‘Collective Arab Security’

During the calls, El-Sisi stressed that Egypt and the Gulf states share a common destiny, adding that Cairo views Gulf security as an extension of Egypt’s national security.

He also emphasized the need to strengthen joint action to confront current challenges and activate the concept of collective Arab security to counter attacks targeting Arab countries.
