Egypt discusses plans to improve teachers’ financial conditions

Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, held a meeting with Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, to discuss a number of issues related to improving teachers’ financial conditions. The two ministers affirmed their continued efforts to approve an increase in teachers’ salaries for the next academic year, with the aim of improving their incomes and supporting their financial stability. Kouchouk stressed the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to supporting the state’s efforts to improve teachers’ conditions and increase their incomes. He noted that coordination with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education would continue to develop the financial and regulatory mechanisms needed to achieve this goal, in line with the state’s priorities and the capacity of the state budget. For his part, Abdel Latif praised the continued cooperation and coordination between the Ministries of Education and Finance. He stressed that improving teachers’ conditions and enhancing their wellbeing remain among the ministry’s top priorities. The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries to develop mechanisms aimed at improving teachers’ economic conditions, as well as the financial and regulatory measures required to achieve this. The efforts form part of the state’s broader approach to improving teachers’ conditions and their working environment in ways that contribute to enhancing the quality of the educational process.
