Dubai unveils Blue Line Metro: AED 20 billion leap towards the future

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the excavation work on the Dubai Metro Blue Line tunnels, stressing that Dubai is the most future-ready city in the world and that whoever bets on Dubai is betting on the future.His Highness said in a post on his X platform account: “During the inauguration of the works of the Dubai Metro Blue Line… 30 km… half of it underground… 14 iconic stations serving one million people and reducing congestion by 20% in Dubai, God willing… 10,000 employees and engineers are racing against time with a budget of 20 billion dirhams to launch this line by 9-9-2029, in addition to another 34 billion for the Gold Line, to complete the newest and most beautiful metro in the world.” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added: “Our major projects to reshape the new Dubai are ongoing… our new global airport… future transport routes… the International Financial Centre in a new look… digital infrastructure and government services with self-driving artificial intelligence technologies… and many more projects that we will launch in the coming months.” His Highness affirmed: “We are the most future-ready city in the world. Whoever bets on Dubai… bets on the future.”
