Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the offering of 60 distinctive two-, three-, four- and five-digit vehicle number plates at its 121st public auction, which will be held on 24 October 2026 at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City Hotel.The auction is expected to attract collectors, investors and buyers interested in plates with symbolic and investment value.Registration opens on Monday, 19 October 2026, through the RTA website and Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha. Participants will also be received at the auction venue from 2pm on the day of the event.The auction features a diverse selection of distinctive numbers under the codes AA, BB, CC, H, U, V, W, X, Y and Z. Among the highlights are the super double numbers BB80, BB18 and CC44, offering participants an opportunity to acquire rare and distinctive plates.The selection also includes eye-catching two-, three-, four- and five-digit numbers, characterised by their patterns and ease of recall, as well as other distinctive combinations designed to appeal to a range of preferences.To participate, bidders must have a Dubai traffic file and provide a refundable security deposit of AED 25,000. The deposit will be returned if the participant does not win a number. A non-refundable registration fee of AED 120 also applies.Successful bidders must pay for their numbers within 10 working days of the auction date. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and the bidder being placed on a non-compliant list.A 5% value-added tax will apply to the sale of the numbers. Individuals may own any number of distinctive plates, subject to the approved terms and conditions.The RTA’s public auctions for distinctive numbers are part of its efforts to provide diverse options that meet customer aspirations and enhance the attractiveness of Dubai’s distinctive number plate market, which continues to draw interest from individuals and investors seeking distinctive plates with symbolic and investment value.
