Dubai RTA completes Oud Metha Road and Al Asayel Street development project

Dubai: Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the Oud Metha Road and Al Asayel Street Development Project, delivering a series of road improvements aimed at enhancing traffic flow in the area.According to the RTA, the project included the development of four major intersections, the construction of four bridges and two tunnels with a total length of 4,300 metres, and road works spanning 14 kilometres.The project increased the capacity of Oud Metha Road from 10,400 vehicles per hour to 15,600 vehicles per hour, representing a 50% increase.The RTA said the improvements reduced journey times by 75%, from 20 minutes to five minutes.The development is expected to serve more than 420,000 residents by 2030.Key areas benefiting from the project include Zabeel, Al Jaddaf, Umm Hurair and Oud Metha.According to the RTA, the project forms part of efforts to enhance road infrastructure and improve mobility across the surrounding communities.
