Dubai Police: 4,504 hard shoulder violations have been recorded since the start of the year
Dubai: Motorists across Dubai have been warned to not use hard  shoulders to bypass traffic, as it can seriously hamper the work of emergency vehicles in cases of accidents and health emergencies.In a video posted on its official social media accounts, Dubai Police noted that since the start of 2026, 4,504 violations have been recorded related to the misuse of hard shoulder."The hard shoulder is reserved for emergencies, not for bypassing traffic," the police said, adding that keeping the hard shoulder clear allows emergency vehicles to respond quickly when every second counts.Traffic fine and black pointsUnder the Federal Traffic Law, drivers caught overtaking on the hard shoulder face a fine of Dh 1,000 and six black points on their driving licence.
