Dubai: Dubai Municipality has opened a new 102-metre bridge at Mushrif National Park, creating a continuous mountain biking trail through Dubai's largest forest and enhancing safety for cyclists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The new bridge connects previously separated sections of the park's mountain biking trail, eliminating the need for riders to cross a road used by vehicles and providing a safer and more seamless experience. The structure features two dedicated lanes, with one reserved for mountain bikers and the other exclusively for hikers, improving safety and movement across the wider trail network. The end-to-end mountain biking route across the bridge spans 182 metres. The project forms part of Dubai Municipality's ongoing efforts to develop Mushrif National Park as a destination for outdoor recreation, adventure sports and active lifestyles.Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the bridge represents a significant enhancement to the park's infrastructure."The new bridge represents a significant addition to Mushrif National Park and transforms the mountain biking experience by creating a continuous connection between two sections of the trail," he said."Mountain bikers can now continue their journey without having to stop and cross a road used by vehicles, providing a safer, smoother and more enjoyable experience through one of Dubai's most distinctive natural environments."Anwahi added that the municipality's approach extends beyond building individual facilities and focuses on creating an integrated outdoor destination where adventure, nature and active lifestyles come together. The bridge has been developed in harmony with the park's natural surroundings while improving accessibility and preserving the character of Mushrif National Park.Dubai Municipality said the project supports broader efforts to create high-quality public spaces that encourage physical activity, community engagement and greater interaction with nature.Mushrif National Park is one of Dubai's leading green and recreational destinations, attracting families, mountain bikers, hikers, fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers throughout the year. The new bridge and trail connection are now open to visitors, who can begin their journey from Mushrif Hub, the park's dedicated centre for mountain bikers, hikers and outdoor adventurers.
