Dubai launches first ‘Work From Park’ initiative at Al Barsha Pond Park

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched its first “Work From Park” initiative at Al Barsha Pond Park, introducing flexible workspaces designed to combine work with the park’s natural surroundings.

The initiative, launched on Monday, aims to offer Dubai residents a new way to work while supporting the goals of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Dubai Afforestation and Parks Strategy 2040.

Who is behind the initiative?

Dubai Municipality is leading the initiative under the direction of Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Marzooqi, Director of Public Parks.

What’s on offer?

The new hub offers three workspace options surrounded by greenery and flowerbeds. Visitors can choose an open-plan coworking space, two private meeting rooms, known as Meeting Rooms A and B, or workshop suites equipped with a desk and two chairs for focused work.

For those who prefer working outdoors, a rooftop terrace provides views across the park’s ponds and flowerbeds.

The workspaces feature large windows overlooking the natural surroundings, while the onsite Tino café allows visitors to order refreshments by scanning a QR code.

How can you book?

The facilities are open to everyone, with fully equipped office spaces available from AED 50 per day.

Bookings can be made through the Letswork app, online or by calling the dedicated hotline.

When and where?

The “Work From Park” facility is open daily from 8am to 8pm at Al Barsha Pond Park in Dubai.

Why now?

With remote and hybrid working becoming part of the modern workplace, Dubai Municipality says the initiative is intended to give employees more flexibility while allowing them to work in natural surroundings.

“The goal of the ‘Work From Park’ initiative is to change the employee’s daily routine by giving them flexibility at work, so they can work with natural views and improve their productivity,” Al Marzooqi said.

“We want to offer spaces that enhance quality of life, productivity, and community engagement.”

What’s next?

Dubai Municipality plans to study which neighbourhoods could benefit from similar “Work From Park” facilities, with potential expansion informed by community feedback.

“There is a plan to study which neighbourhoods need ‘Work From Park’ options. We’ll listen to people’s desires and expand based on community feedback,” Al Marzooqi said.

The bottom line

Dubai’s first “Work From Park” hub brings flexible working into one of the city’s public parks, offering residents a choice of private, shared and outdoor workspaces within a green setting.
