Dubai launches autonomous taxi service in Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah

Dubai: Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an autonomous taxi service for public use in the Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah areas in partnership with Apollo Go, marking a new step in the emirate's smart mobility journey.In a post on X, the RTA invited residents to experience the self-driving taxi service, which is currently available at a promotional fare of AED 5 per trip.Users can book rides through the Apollo Go application.The initiative forms part of Dubai's efforts to advance autonomous transport technologies and support the emirate's vision of becoming a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility solutions.The announcement comes as Dubai continues to expand the use of innovative transport technologies to enhance mobility and improve the customer experience across the city.
