The goal is to help improve service quality, while maintaining security and safety standards across Dubai’s neighbourhoods – all while beautifying the city’s appearance, one lawn at a time.The initiative will also support engagement with local communities through training and awareness programmes that promote responsible and sustainable gardening practices.What services are being offered?With Al Freej Gardener, residents will be able to book a range of home gardening and landscaping services through the Careem app. The app will offer tailored service packages, delivered through specialised agricultural maintenance companies.Their services include:Home gardeningRegular maintenanceIrrigation system installation and maintenanceAgricultural consultancy How does the initiative work?Seamless collaboration between diverse authorities is set to ensure the program’s success.Dubai Municipality is leading the initiative to provide residents with convenient access to qualified home gardening and landscaping professionals, in an effort to enhance the quality and reliability of gardening services.Dubai Police General Headquarters will conduct awareness and field campaigns across residential areas to strengthen residents’ understanding of relevant preventive measures and procedures. The authorities will support the regulated delivery of gardening services, enhance security and public safety, and contribute to a safe residential environment across Dubai’s neighbourhoods.The GDRFA will provide guidance on relevant visa and permit requirements for workers in the field, as well as raise awareness of regulatory procedures and supporting mechanisms that promote compliance, and limit irregular practices.Careem’s role is to develop and operate the digital service, and coordinate with participating companies throughout the registration and qualification process. It will also provide supporting services that are needed to deliver a safe, reliable, and accessible customer experience.Together, the collaborators will participate in knowledge exchange, capacity building, and joint oversight of related projects and initiatives.When can I book a service?According to Dubai Municipality, the Al Freej Gardener initiative will become available through the Careem app in September 2026.
