Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Commerce strengthened collaboration between the public and private sectors during the first half of 2026, reviewing 42 laws and draft laws in cooperation with Business Groups and achieving a 73% adoption rate for private sector recommendations.The chamber, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, worked closely with Business Groups and Business Councils to support private sector growth and enhance the emirate's business environment.During H1 2026, Dubai Chamber of Commerce reviewed 42 laws and draft laws in partnership with Business Groups, representing year-on-year growth of around 56%. The adoption rate for recommendations submitted by the private sector rose to 73%, compared with 60% during the same period last year.The chamber also organised 94 meetings with Business Groups and Business Councils to discuss sector priorities, assess evolving business needs and identify ways to help companies respond to market developments and capitalise on emerging opportunities.The discussions resulted in practical recommendations aimed at supporting private sector growth and strengthening Dubai's investment environment.Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, said: “Ensuring the business community has a strong voice in shaping legislation and economic policy is essential to aligning regulatory frameworks with private sector priorities and evolving market needs.“The increasing adoption of private sector recommendations, together with our continued engagement with Business Groups and Business Councils, reflects the strength of Dubai’s public-private sector partnership. They also help develop proposals and recommendations to improve regulatory frameworks and support the long-term growth of the sectors they represent.The chamber noted that advocating for the interests of the business community remains a key strategic priority. Through its Business Groups and Business Councils, it continues to support private sector participation in the development of regulations, legislation and business practices across a broad range of industries.Dubai Chambers added that Business Groups and Business Councils contribute significantly to commercial and economic activity in the emirate by representing sector interests and facilitating constructive dialogue with government entities, helping to advance Dubai's sustainable economic growth.
