Dubai Airports boost readiness for post-summer travel surge

Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has announced enhanced operational readiness across all travel platforms and checkpoints at Dubai airports to facilitate the return of citizens, residents and visitors following the summer holiday season.The move aims to ensure smooth and efficient travel procedures while reducing processing times and enhancing customer experience.GDRFA Dubai said it has implemented a range of field and logistical measures, including the redistribution of human resources, deployment of technical support teams and activation of the maximum operational capacity of smart gates.The smart gates enable travellers to complete passport procedures within seconds using facial recognition and biometric technologies, providing a fully contactless travel experience.The authority has also completed preparations for dedicated 'Red Carpet' corridors and reception counters designed to offer travellers a welcoming experience that reflects Dubai's reputation for hospitality and service excellence.Reflecting leadership's visionLieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the preparations align with the vision of Dubai's leadership to deliver a world-class travel experience and reinforce the emirate's position as a preferred destination for living, tourism and business.He praised the efforts of passport officers and airport teams, describing their professionalism and readiness as a reflection of Dubai's commitment to hospitality and excellence.His remarks came during a meeting with the Assistant Director General for Airport Affairs and a number of officers and operational teams at Dubai Airports, where he directed that returning travellers and visitors receive a welcome that reflects Dubai's global standing and service standards.Focus on border hospitalityAl Marri said GDRFA Dubai continues to advance the concept of 'border hospitality' by training passport officers to serve as ambassadors of Dubai's welcoming culture.He noted that the authority is adopting advanced practices to improve airport efficiency and meet the highest international aviation standards by transforming traditional travel procedures into a seamless hospitality experience from the moment passengers arrive.He also highlighted the importance of strategic coordination with key partners, including Dubai Airports, Dubai Police, Dubai Customs and national carriers.According to Al Marri, this integration plays a central role in ensuring flexibility, speed and efficiency in completing travel procedures, while enhancing customer satisfaction and reinforcing Dubai's reputation for service excellence at its airports.
