Bunia, Congo: At least 930 people have died in the Democratic Republic of Congo's ongoing Ebola outbreak, according to the country's Ministry of Health.The deaths were recorded among 2,344 confirmed cases as of Saturday, the ministry said. Health authorities reported 37 new deaths in the previous 24 hours, one of the highest daily death tolls since the outbreak began.The outbreak, which was declared in eastern Congo on 15 May, has become the fastest-growing Ebola outbreak on record.Officials said the outbreak is being driven by the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus, a less common variant for which there is currently no approved vaccine or treatment.Health authorities continue efforts to contain the spread of the disease as cases rise across affected areas in eastern Congo.
